The Orion HV, emitting at 635nm, allows for maximum visibility in the red portion of the visible spectrum. In comparison with more common red lasers the Orion HV’s beam is fiery reddish-orange. The perceived brightness of the Orion HV at 200mW is roughly equal to that of Laserglow’s Orion at >500mW. This wavelength is very rarely found in a handheld housing.
Laserglow’s Orion HV Series red portable lasers are individually tested using a laser power meter for a 10-minute continuous period to ensure sustained performance. This test is done at least 3 times before being shipped to the customer.
If budget is more important to you than brightness, you should also consider our Orion-200 658 nm handheld laser which, while less expensive, has the same power at a slightly less visible wavelength.
